My Story
Dr. Khalil Soniwala is a highly experienced and respected Australian-trained paediatrician based in Canberra, with over two decades of expertise in paediatrics and neonatology. He is committed to delivering comprehensive and compassionate care to children and their families.

Dr. Soniwala completed his specialist training at leading institutions, including Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick, The Children's Hospital at Westmead, and The Canberra Hospital. In 2015, he was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).

With a passion for both clinical care and medical education, Dr. Soniwala served as a consultant paediatrician in Wagga Wagga for six years before returning to Canberra in 2021. He was also an appointed lecturer and examiner at The University of New South Wales, contributing to the training of future doctors.
​
Currently, Dr. Soniwala practices as a visiting paediatrician at North Canberra Hospital and John James Hospital. In 2021, he co-founded National Capital Paediatrics alongside his paediatric surgeon colleague, Dr. Rajay Rampersad, with the goal of providing multidisciplinary specialist paediatric care. His expertise spans a wide range of neonatal and paediatric medicine, with a focus on child development, behavioural and learning difficulties, including developmental delay and ADHD.

As a father of two young children and a teenager, Dr. Soniwala understands the challenges faced by families and brings a compassionate, balanced approach to patient care.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Soniwala actively contributes to the medical community as a representative of the ACT chapter on the RACP ACT/NSW committee.

Dr. Soniwala is currently accepting new referrals for general paediatrics and neurodevelopmental concerns, including ADHD.
