Dr Deepa Dorasamy

Dr. Deepa Dorasamy is a dual-trained General Paediatrician and Neonatologist with a passion for providing comprehensive care to children, from newborns to adolescents. She graduated with First Class Honours in Medicine from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Malaysia, in 2005.

Dr. Dorasamy has over 14 years of dedicated paediatric experience, having trained across Australia, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia. Her advanced training includes working within the prestigious Sydney Children's Hospital Network and completing her subspecialty in Neonatology at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in 2022. She holds a Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in both General Paediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.

Dr. Dorasamy serves as a neonatal clinician at The Canberra Hospital, where she collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver intensive care to critically ill newborns. She has a special interest in the growth and development of preterm infants, as well as newborn care challenges such as feeding, settling, and constipation. Her expertise extends to managing respiratory conditions, atopy, and childhood behavioural issues including ADHD, specific learning disorders and autism.

Dr. Dorasamy is fluent in English, Tamil, Bahasa Indonesia, and Bahasa Malaysia, enabling her to connect with families from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Dorasamy cherishes time with her beautiful blended family. As a mother of three, her children keep her life vibrant and dynamic.
