Dr Uma Visser
Paediatric Endocrinology
My Story
Dr Uma Visser was awarded her Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians as a Paediatric Endocrinologist in 2018. While a large part of her training was completed at Sydney Children’s Hospital, significant parts were also completed in Adelaide, Canberra and in rural settings to ensure a broad clinical base.
Since then Dr Visser worked as a staff specialist Paediatric Endocrinologist at Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Campbelltown Hospital and more recently the Canberra Hospital. She also completed her Masters of Medicine at University of New South Wales with her thesis focussing on non-invasive biochemical monitoring of children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Dr Visser maintains research and clinical interests in adrenal and thyroid disease, and consults on all areas of Paediatric Endocrinology.
In the private setting Dr Visser does not see children with insulin dependent diabetes or children with gender dysphoria, as she believes that both of these complex conditions need care by a specialised multi-disciplinary team.
